Guess who’s only gone and bought a puppy!! I’m so excited to introduce you all to Ralph!
Anybody who knows me well, will know that I have talked about this moment for YEARS. Since the day I moved out and started living independently, I have dreamt of having my own puppy.
I’m completely in love/obsessed with my new little man – but my god it’s been hard work. I was fully prepared for all the physical challenges, but mentally, I’m exhausted.
I guess it’s like having a child… only cuter and much furrier!
They never teach you the important things in school such as: “how to look after a puppy” or “how to manage your life and avoid becoming an anti-social mess”
All jokes aside, he is doing AMAZINGLY well. His confidence has already come on leaps and bounds (literally) – and the speed of his toilet training has been incredible!
He has settled into my life perfectly and brings a smile to my face everyday. I’m not going to lie, there have been some tough moments – but I feel like I’m getting into more of a routine now and I couldn’t be happier.
In order to help me be as independent with Ralph as possible, I thought I’d share some of these new doggy gadgets that I’ve bought to try and make life that little bit easier!
One of my favourite items that helps me out a lot, is this “no bend bowl”. The light-weight pole on this product allows me to pick up his bowls and refill his food and water – without straining my back.
My family and support workers have been amazing, but it’s important that Ralph primarily attaches to me. Food is important to dogs – so I want to be able to do as much for him myself as possible.
Another cool gadget that I bought from Amazon, is this bad-ass poop scoop
I’m so excited to see how he develops over the next few months. My mum has always wanted grandchildren and I’ve joked for years that all she’s getting from me is puppies… TA DAHH!
